After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the Official World Golf Ranking, while the top of the list also shifts.
Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour in Southern California, there was notable movement on the official Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). After a thrilling finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf Golf Club) emerged as the champion of the event.
With his victory, Schott climbed an impressive 94 spots from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai list. He also advanced more than 200 positions on the OWGR: at the beginning of last week, he was ranked 436th and had only marginally improved compared to 2025. Following his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now sits at 195th place, placing him inside the top 200. Nearby on the ranking is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but originally from Golf Club Hubbelrath. Von Dellingshausen is currently ranked 192nd, showing no change compared to the previous week.
Jäger Also Climbing the Official World Golf Ranking – Movement at the Top
At the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger began his comeback on Saturday and ultimately finished tied for 5th place on Sunday with 15 under par. The 36-year-old from Munich rose into the top 100 of the OWGR. Having gained 22 spots, Jäger is now ranked 99th and closely trails Germany’s best player, Matti Schmid, who currently holds 98th place and finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open. The two players are separated by only 0.0216 points.
There was also movement at the top ranks of the OWGR. With Englishman Justin Rose winning the Farmers Insurance Open, Tommy Fleetwood dropped from 3rd to 4th place. Rose gained seven spots, moving up from 10th to 3rd on the leaderboard. Englishman Russell Henley and Scot Robert MacIntyre each slipped one position down. Justin Rose now ranks behind second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number one Scottie Scheffler, who holds about an 8.5 point lead over the Northern Irishman.
