Membership Reapplied: Koepka Prepares PGA Tour Return in 2026

Bryson DeChambeau confirms LIV start in 2026, Vijay Singh returns to PGA, Charley Hull launches YouTube channel in golf’s latest news.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives in high-level sports contests, has been less motivated in LIV events. He joined LIV in 2022 amid injury concerns, aiming to secure a solid retirement fund. Questions remain about whether he had to buy out of his contract or return part of his guaranteed salary. Despite stepping away as a player, he still owns the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculations swirl about which fairways Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible—likely with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, following the significant reduction of lifetime bans previously imposed. Recent information from ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reveals Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, aiming to rejoin the player roster.

DeChambeau Confirms LIV Start for 2026

Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau officially confirmed he will compete in the LIV Golf League in 2026. His Crushers team with Charles Howell III, Paul Casey, and Anirban Lahiri will enter their fifth season unchanged. Interestingly, DeChambeau hasn’t announced a general contract extension, leading to speculation about behind-the-scenes agreements to retain LIV’s most marketable star following Koepka’s departure.

Vijay Singh Returns to PGA Tour at 62

In a surprising move, three-time major winner Vijay Singh, at 62, is returning to the PGA Tour using an exemption based on his career money list position. He will play this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Previously, Singh has competed on the PGA Tour Champions, winning five titles including the Senior Players Championship.

TGL’s TV Ratings Drop in Season Two Start

Without Tiger Woods, the Tomorrow’s Golf League struggled with TV ratings in its second season. The ABC broadcast opener attracted only 646,000 viewers, down from 919,000 on ESPN in season one. The subsequent match between Atlanta and The Bay drew just 354,000 viewers. Woods, Rory McIlroy, and partner Mike McCarley need to find a new star ‘eye catcher’ to revive momentum, as Woods’ impact remains unmatched.
