With a flawless 65, Stephan Jäger makes a strong comeback, climbing 39 spots to T6 before the final round.
The Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego remains exciting as 45-year-old American Justin Rose holds the lead despite setbacks on the back nine of the third round.
Rose Holds Lead Despite Back Nine Struggles
Rose shined with four birdies on the front nine but had three bogeys on the back nine. Three more birdies on the second half resulted in a 68, not matching his Thursday 62 or Friday 65. Nevertheless, Rose leads by six strokes at 21 under par.
Following Rose is American Joel Dahmen, who shot a strong 68 on day three, moving into solo second place at 15 under par. Close behind are two Asian players at 13 under par: Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and Korea’s Si Woo Kim sharing third place.
Both proved themselves on the South Course on day three. Hisatsune balanced two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and remained bogey-free on the back nine with three more birdies, finishing with a 68. Kim scored a 69, including a double bogey on hole 12 but still completed the round at three under par with seven birdies and two bogeys.
