Stephan Jäger starts a strong comeback with a flawless 65, climbing 39 spots to tie for 6th before the final round.
The Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California, remains exciting. At the top, 45-year-old American Justin Rose holds his position despite setbacks on the back nine of the third round.
Rose Maintains Lead Despite Back Nine Challenges
Rose shined with four birdies on the front nine but faced three bogeys on the back nine. Three additional birdies in the latter half resulted in a 68 for the round. Though not matching his 62 on Thursday and 65 on Friday, Rose stays six strokes clear at the top of the leaderboard, standing at 21 under par.
Following Rose is American Joel Dahmen, who also posted a strong 68 on day three, moving up one place to solo second at 15 under par. Close behind at 13 under are two Asian players sharing third: Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and South Korea’s Si Woo Kim.
Both had to perform on the South Course on Saturday. Hisatsune balanced two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and remained bogey-free on the back nine with three more birdies, finishing with a 68. Kim shot a 69, including a double bogey on hole 12, but managed seven birdies and two bogeys, ending the day three under par.
