Schott Fights for Top Spot on DP World Tour Moving Day in Bahrain
Freddy Schott battled for the lead on day three of the DP World Tour in Bahrain ahead of the final day. With flawless first nine holes and four birdies, he took the lead early from leader Calum Hill, who lost his two-stroke advantage after three bogeys and just one birdie on the first six holes. Schott leveled with birdies on holes 3 and 5 and extended his lead with precise shots and confident putts on holes 8 and 9.

However, bogeys on holes 12 and 13 brought him back level with Hill. Both players birdied the 14th to reach a temporary total score of -15. Hill regained the lead with a birdie at 15, while Schott was unable to respond and suffered an unfortunate bogey on 18. Hill leads by two strokes (-16) ahead of Schott (-14) going into the final day.
After the round, the German said: ‘I’m a bit disappointed with the three-putt on the last hole, but it was a good day. We will keep doing what we have done so far. I thought it might take two days to catch him (Hill). He had some trouble on the early holes, and suddenly we were tied. I continue to plan on catching him tomorrow and look forward to it. It would be great if that happens, but it is still a bit early to think about it.’
International Chasers Increase the Pressure
Close behind Hill and Schott are international contenders, including last week’s winner, Patrick Reed. The American, who announced his departure from LIV Golf and upcoming comeback to the PGA Tour this summer, started the third round strongly.
