Freddy Schott is fighting for the lead ahead of the final day of the DP World Tour in Bahrain. Von Dellingshausen and Girrbach are positioned in the top 20.

Schott fights for the lead on the DP World Tour moving day in Bahrain

Freddy Schott battled for the lead on day three of the DP World Tour in Bahrain. With flawless play over the first nine holes and four birdies, he took the lead early from front-runner Calum Hill. Hill, who started with three bogeys and only one birdie in the first six holes, quickly lost his two-stroke advantage. Schott initially equalized with birdies on holes 3 and 5 and extended his lead further with precise approach shots and solid putts on holes 8 and 9.

However, he had to take bogeys on holes 12 and 13. Tied again with Hill, both players made birdies on 14, reaching a temporary total score of -15. Calum Hill regained the lead with another birdie on 15, while Schott was unable to mount a decisive attack afterwards and recorded an unfortunate bogey on 18. Hill enters the final day with a two-stroke lead (-16) over Schott (-14).

After the round, the German said: \”I’m a bit disappointed that it ended with a three-putt on the last hole, but it was a good day. We are just doing what we’ve done so far. I thought it might take two days to catch him (Hill). He had some trouble early on and suddenly we were tied. I am still following the plan to catch him tomorrow and am looking forward to it. It would be great if that works out, but it is still a bit early to think about that.\”

International contenders increase the pressure

Close behind Hill and Schott are international challengers, including last week’s winner, Patrick Reed. The American, who announced his departure from LIV Golf and his comeback to the PGA Tour in summer before the tournament, had a fantastic start to the third round
