Stephan Jäger starts a strong comeback with a flawless 65, climbing 39 spots to T6 before the final round.
The Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California, remains exciting. At the top, 45-year-old American Justin Rose maintains his lead despite setbacks on the back nine of the third round.
Rose holds lead despite struggles on back nine
On the front nine, Rose impressed with four birdies but had three bogeys on the back nine. Despite three more birdies in the second half, he finished with a 68, unable to match his 62 on Thursday and 65 on Friday. Nonetheless, Rose stays six strokes ahead at the top of the leaderboard, standing at 21 under par.
Following Rose is American Joel Dahmen, who also posted a strong 68 in round three, moving up one spot to sole second at 15 under par. Close behind are two Asian players tied at 13 under: Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and Korea’s Si Woo Kim share third place (T3).
Both played on the South Course, with Hisatsune balancing two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and going bogey-free on the back nine with three more birdies, finishing with a 68. Kim shot 69 with seven birdies and two bogeys, including a double bogey on hole 12, resulting in 3 under par for the day.
