Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start at Farmers, Vijay Singh returning, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level contests, something LIV did not fully provide. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a comfortable retirement payout. Thus, skipping the last contract year is unsurprising, though questions remain whether he had to buy out or return part of his guaranteed salary. He still owns the LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations abound on where Koepka will next play. Possibly on the DP World Tour, where he would be eligible immediately, maybe with a penalty? Or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension post his last LIV appearance, after lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were eased. There is now partial clarity on this. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022, to rejoin the player ranks.
