First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching YouTube channel. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitive player who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 fearing an early career end due to injuries and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain about potential buyouts or partial repayment of guaranteed money. He remains owner of his LIV team, Smash GC, which has named Talor Gooch as new captain.
Speculation is growing about which tournaments Koepka will soon participate in. He could play immediately on the DP World Tour, possibly paying a penalty, or attempt to return to the PGA Tour after serving a one-year suspension following his last LIV event. This suspension has been significantly softened compared to the lifetime bans previously imposed. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the players’ circle.
