Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for more, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion intends to stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This comes from LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka, a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, was less motivated by LIV events. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injuries jeopardizing his career, seeking a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping his final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or refunds. He also remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, now led by captain Talor Gooch.

Speculation surrounds where Koepka will play next: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible possibly after a penalty fee, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension stemming from his last LIV appearance—although previously lifetime bans by commissioner Jay Monahan have been softened. It now appears the question has been partly answered. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership that lapsed after 2022 and to rejoin the players’ ranks.
