DP World Tour: Freddy Schott battles Calum Hill for the lead in Bahrain

Freddy Schott battles for the lead ahead of the final day at the DP World Tour in Bahrain. Von Dellingshausen and Girrbach are positioned in the top 20.

Schott fights for the lead on the moving day of the DP World Tour in Bahrain

Freddy Schott fought for the lead on day three of the DP World Tour in Bahrain ahead of the final round. With a flawless front nine featuring four birdies, he took the lead early from front-runner Calum Hill, who lost his two-stroke advantage after three bogeys and only one birdie in the first six holes. Schott matched Hill with birdies on holes 3 and 5 and extended his lead with precise approach shots and solid putting on holes 8 and 9.

International contenders increase the pressure

Just behind Hill and Schott, international challengers like last week’s winner, Patrick Reed, are closing in. The American, who recently announced his departure from LIV Golf and announced a comeback to the PGA Tour this summer, started the third round strongly with multiple birdies and an eagle on hole 13, finishing the day at -6 and at -12 overall.

Girrbach and von Dellingshausen in the top 20 entering the final day

Joel Girrbach began the moving day with a dream start, scoring four consecutive birdies and reaching -7 for the day at one point. Despite setbacks including a bogey and a triple bogey, he finished strong with a birdie-birdie close and stands at -9 overall in the top 20. Nicolai von Dellingshausen matched Girrbach’s total at -9 after three rounds, showing solid play despite two bogeys and positioned well heading into the final round.
