Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives under top-level challenges, something he lacked at LIV. He had moved there primarily in 2022 fearing an early career end due to injuries and to secure a good retirement fund. Given that, it’s not surprising he skipped his last contractual season, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. He also remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation surrounds where Koepka will appear next: on the DP World Tour, likely immediately eligible perhaps with a penalty, or on the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, after life bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly softened. Why hold grudges when returning LIV players serve the long-established Tour’s interests? This key question seems partly answered. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership after 2022 and be reinstated as a player.
