Stephan Jäger shines with an impressive 65, landing in the top 5 at the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour. Brooks Koepka faces challenges in his comeback.

Stephan Jäger experienced an outstanding start to the Farmers Insurance Open on Thursday at the PGA Tour. With a round of 65, he secured a tie for 5th place and is close to the top leaderboard. The other German players had a tougher time. Thomas Rosenmüller finished with a 2-under-par round at T55, ahead of Jeremy Paul, who stands at even par at T87, and Matti Schmid, who played 1 over par and is tied for 101 going into the second round. Sharing the same position with Matti Schmid is LIV Golf returnee Brooks Koepka, who faced challenges in his first tournament back on the American tour. Leading after the first day is Justin Rose at 10 under par.

Jäger carried the momentum into the back nine, starting with two birdies and adding two more at holes 16 and 17, finishing his round at 7 under par and entering the rest of the week in 5th place.

Thomas Rosenmüller had a steadier round. He also started with his only bogey of the day but got back to even par on the front nine with a birdie on hole 9. He added birdies on holes 11 and 17, finishing with a 70 and placing 55th.

Jeremy Paul started his round on the back nine, but the front nine proved decisive on Thursday. After three birdies and one bogey, he seemed poised for
