YouTube Star Wesley Bryan Still Suspended Despite LIV Golf Returns

After the comebacks of Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed on the PGA Tour, debate reignites over YouTube golf star Wesley Bryan’s suspension.

Ten months ago, PGA Tour professional and YouTube star Wesley Bryan was indefinitely suspended by the PGA Tour for participating in the LIV Golf Creator Event, the “LIV Duels”, which was a rival event to the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic. With Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed returning, Bryan had hoped to join the biggest golf tour in the world again this season.

No Chance for Wesley Bryan’s Reinstatement Yet

However, Bryan is not given this chance at present. “Unfortunately, Brooks Koepka’s return to the tour has no impact on my situation,” Bryan stated on X. “I asked for a meeting to possibly lift my suspension, but I was told no such conversation will take place.” Many fans and observers are puzzled by the situation, as Bryan never officially played for LIV Golf, but only participated in the 9-hole scramble YouTube event held in cooperation with LIV Golf, which many consider not comparable.

One-Year Suspension for Returnees

Besides Bryan, Koepka, and Reed, other previously suspended players like Kevin Na, Pat Perez, and Hudson Swafford are returning to American soil golf after their time with LIV Golf. Compared to Reed and Koepka, they must wait to debut as those who don’t meet the “Returning Member Program” criteria can only start next season. Perez and Swafford have officially regained PGA membership but can only participate in tournaments starting in 2027.

There are speculations that a similar option might be available for Wesley Bryan in the future, if his participation in the “LIV Duels” is over a year ago. Whether the PGA Tour will offer this to the one-time tour winner remains to be seen.
