YouTube Star Wesley Bryan Still Suspended Despite LIV Golf Returns

After the returns of Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed to the PGA Tour, debate reignites over YouTube golf star Wesley Bryan’s suspension.

Ten months ago, PGA Tour pro and YouTube star Wesley Bryan was indefinitely suspended by the PGA Tour due to his participation in the LIV Golf Creator Event, the “LIV Duels,” which directly competes with the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic. Following the comebacks of Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed, Bryan hoped to return to the world’s largest golf tour for the new season.

No Chance of Probation for Wesley Bryan

However, Bryan currently has no opportunity to return. “Unfortunately, Brooks Koepka’s comeback has no impact on my situation,” Bryan announced on X. “I requested a meeting to possibly lift my suspension, but I was informed that such a discussion will not take place.” Many fans and observers find this hard to understand since Bryan never officially played for LIV Golf like others who were granted permission. Instead, he participated in a 9-hole scramble YouTube event held in cooperation with LIV Golf, which many see as a different situation.

One-Year Suspension for Returnees

There are other cases beyond Bryan, Koepka, and Reed where previously suspended players will be able to return to the PGA Tour in the future. Kevin Na, Pat Perez, and Hudson Swafford are returning after their time with LIV Golf in the U.S., but unlike Reed and Koepka, they must wait for their debut. Players not meeting the “Returning Member Program” criteria can only start in the next season. Perez and Swafford have officially regained their PGA memberships but can only participate in tournaments starting in 2027.

It is speculated that a similar option could become available to Wesley Bryan in the future if more than a year has passed since his participation in the “LIV Duels.” Whether the PGA Tour will offer this to the one-time tour winner remains to be seen.
