Freddy Schott confirms his strong form with a 67, moving to 2nd place at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour.

Freddy Schott secured a 67 on the second day of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour, positioning himself strongly for the weekend. Sitting at 12 under par, he holds a four-stroke lead over a chasing group. However, ahead of him is Scotsman Calum Hill, who set a new course record with an impressive 61. Nicolai Von Dellingshausen, finishing one under par on the day, is also in a promising position at 14th, just one stroke behind the main chasing pack. Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider unfortunately missed the cut.

DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week

Following an excellent round on Thursday, Freddy Schott aimed to maintain his performance on Friday and secure a good position for the weekend. He started strong, making a birdie on the first hole after a clean approach. Despite a drive that veered right on hole 3 and a second shot landing in the rough, Schott skillfully recovered to make a birdie. He added another birdie on hole 9 for a -3 on the front nine. On the back nine, he birdied the 13th and then executed two perfect shots on the 14th to sink his second eagle of the week from just under 7 meters. Though not flawless, he finished with bogeys on the 15th and 18th holes, ending the day at five under par and second place going into the weekend.

Nicolai Von Dellingshausen could not quite replicate his previous day’s performance, finishing the day one under par and dropping to 14th place. Starting on the back nine, he played error-free for a long stretch, opening with a birdie. Additional birdies on holes 13 and 1 kept him near the top, but two poor shots on hole 3 and a missed short putt on hole 7 resulted in two bogeys to close. Nevertheless, Von Dellingshausen remains within striking distance at seven under par overall, just one stroke behind the group tied for fourth.

Calum Hill posted a flawless round on Friday, carding eleven birdies with no dropped shots. His 61, 11 under par, tied the course record at the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain and gave him a commanding four-shot lead heading into the weekend. At 31 years old,
