Membership Reapplied: Koepka Prepares PGA Tour Return in 2026

Bryson DeChambeau confirms LIV start for 2026, Vijay Singh returns to PGA Tour at 62, Charley Hull launches YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was the friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which LIV did not fully provide. He switched in 2022 mainly for financial reasons, fearing early career end due to injury and securing retirement funds. Thus, skipping the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or wage repayments. He remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch named new captain.

Speculation arises on where Koepka will play next – the DP World Tour, where eligibility is immediate possibly with penalty, or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension from last LIV participation applies but has been softened from lifetime bans. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the players’ circle.

DeChambeau Confirms LIV Start for 2026

Bryson DeChambeau officially confirmed he will compete in LIV Golf League in 2026. His team Crushers, including Charles Howell III, Paul Casey, and Anirban Lahiri, enters its fifth season unchanged. Interestingly, DeChambeau has not announced a contract extension, fueling speculation about behind-the-scenes arrangements following Koepka’s departure to retain LIV’s marketable figure.

Vijay Singh Returns to PGA Tour at Age 62

In a surprising move, three-time major winner Vijay Singh is returning to the PGA Tour at 62. The Fijian uses his career earnings exemption to play, starting this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Singh has won five titles on the PGA Tour Champions, including the Senior Players Championship.

TGL Struggles Without Tiger Woods

Without Tiger Woods, the Tomorrow’s Golf League faces poor TV ratings. The season two opener on ABC attracted only 646,000 viewers, down from 919,000 on ESPN in season one. The second match drew just 354,000 viewers. Woods’ presence was key to audience interest. Organizers Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Mike McCarley urgently need a new star, but Woods remains unmatched in drawing attention. Rory McIlroy and Tom Kim serve more as supporting roles.
