PGA Tour: Two Germans Qualify via Monday Qualifier for Farmers Insurance Open

Two additional German pros qualified on Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open alongside Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid.

At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, all eyes are on Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. But beyond the stars, players are competing hard, some even before the official tournament start.

PGA Tour Monday Qualifier

In the Monday qualifier, 60 players contested four spots for the event at the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course. The qualifying round took place at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful qualifiers were two Germans. Thomas Rosenmüller shared first place with Swede Henrik Norlander at seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmüller spread his nine strokes gained throughout the round. Starting on hole 10, Rosenmüller slipped with two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but stayed at the top. Crucially, he reliably converted the par-5s into birdies to secure the lead.

Sharing third place at five under par were Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul, who also qualified for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul also started at hole 10 and played an excellent back nine with an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys. Rosenmüller and Paul thus round out the German contingent at Torrey Pines.

In the days leading up to the tournament start, there were several changes in the Farmers Insurance Open field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, enabling Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to move in. Additionally, the field size was expanded to 147 players with Brooks Koepka’s participation, allowing Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin to enter as well.
