Besides Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, two more German professionals qualified on Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.
At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, the main talking point is Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. However, beyond the stars, there’s much at stake for the golfers, some even before the tournament officially begins.
PGA Tour Monday Qualifier
At the Monday qualifier, 60 players competed for four starting spots at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course. The qualifying event took place at the Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful participants were two German players. Thomas Rosenmüller shared first place with Swedish Henrik Norlander at seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmüller spread his nine stroke gains throughout the round. After starting on hole 10, Rosenmüller slipped with two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but maintained his lead. Crucially, Rosenmüller reliably converted the par-5s into birdies to stay at the top.
With five under par, American Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul tied for third place, also qualifying for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul also started on hole 10 and played a formidable back nine with an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys. Thus, Rosenmüller and Paul complete the German contingent at Torrey Pines.

In the days leading up to the tournament, there were further changes to the Farmers Insurance Open field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to move into the field. Additionally, the field size is expanded to 147 players due to Brooks Koepka’s participation, which also made room for Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin to join.
