First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This amicable agreement was the official statement from LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who gets highly motivated and fired up during top-level competition, which he found only limited at LIV. He switched mostly due to injury concerns in 2022, seeking a comfortable retirement fund. Hence, skipping the final contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about buyouts or repayments. He remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as new captain.
Speculation abounds where Koepka will next play — the DP World Tour, which would allow immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year ban after his last LIV appearance, although previous lifetime bans have been eased. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, ending his 2022 non-renewal.
