Besides Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, two more German pros qualified on Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.
At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, the big talking point is Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. But beyond the stars, there is a lot at stake for the golfers, some even before the official tournament start.
PGA Tour Monday Qualifier
Sixty players competed for four spots in the tournament at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course during the Monday qualifier held at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful players were two Germans. Thomas Rosenmüller tied for first place with Sweden’s Henrik Norlander, both finishing seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmüller spread his nine stroke gains throughout the round. Starting on hole 10, Rosenmüller had some shaky moments with bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but maintained the lead, crucially converting the Par-5 holes reliably into birdies to climb to the top.
Sharing third place at five under par were Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul, who also qualified for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul started on hole 10 and played an outstanding back nine with an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys. This completes the German contingent at Torrey Pines alongside Rosenmüller.

In the days leading up to the tournament, there were additional changes in the Farmers Insurance Open field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to enter. Additionally, Brooks Koepka’s participation expands the field to 147 players, enabling Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin to join the tournament.
