PGA Tour: Two Germans Qualify Through Monday Qualifier for Farmers Insurance Open

Two more German pros qualified on Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open, joining Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid.

The 2026 Farmers Insurance Open centers around one headline: Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. But beyond the stars, much is at stake for the players, some even before the official tournament start.

PGA Tour Monday Qualifier

At the Monday Qualifier, 60 players competed for four spots in the event held at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course. The qualifier took place at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful participants were two German players. Thomas Rosenmüller tied with Swedish Henrik Norlander for first place at seven-under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine. Rosenmüller spread his nine strokes gained throughout the round. Starting on hole 10, he had two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but remained at the top. Crucial was Rosenmüller’s reliable conversion of par-5 holes into birdies to climb to the lead.

Sharing third place at five-under par were American Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul, who also qualified for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul also started on hole 10 and posted a remarkable back nine with an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys. This completed the German contingent at Torrey Pines alongside Rosenmüller.

In the days leading to the tournament, several other changes affected the field at the Farmers Insurance Open. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to move in. Additionally, Brooks Koepka’s participation expanded the field to 147 players, bringing in Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin as well.
