Besides Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, two more German pros qualified Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.
At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, all eyes are on Brooks Koepka’s much-anticipated return to the PGA Tour. However, beyond the star players, the competition is fierce and for some, it’s already intense even before the official start of the tournament.
PGA Tour Monday Qualifier
In the Monday Qualifier, 60 players competed for four starting spots at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course. The qualifying event took place at the Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful participants were two German players. Thomas Rosenmüller shared first place with Swede Henrik Norlander at seven strokes under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine. Rosenmüller spread his nine stroke gains throughout the round. Starting on the 10th hole, he faced challenges with two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but remained at the top. Crucially, Rosenmüller was able to reliably convert the par-5 holes into birdies to secure his leading position.
Sharing third place at five under par were Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul, who also qualified for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul, who also started on hole 10, played an outstanding back nine with an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys. Thus, Rosenmüller and Paul complete the German contingent at Torrey Pines.
