PGA Tour: Two German Professionals Qualify via Monday Qualifier for Farmers Insurance Open

Alongside Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, two more German pros earned spots in the Farmers Insurance Open on Monday.

At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, all eyes are on Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. However, beyond the star power, many golfers are fighting for their place even before the official tournament starts.

PGA Tour Monday Qualifier

Sixty players competed for four spots in the tournament held at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course. The qualifying event took place at the Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful players were two Germans: Thomas Rosenmüller and fellow qualifier Henrik Norlander from Sweden shared the first place with seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmüller spread his nine strokes gained throughout the round. Starting on the 10th hole, Rosenmüller faced two bogeys on the 7th and 9th but maintained the lead by consistently converting par-5 holes into birdies.

With five under par, American players Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul tied for third place, also qualifying for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul, who also started on hole 10, played an extraordinary back nine with an eagle at the 1st hole, two birdies, and no bogeys. Rosenmüller and Paul now join the German contingent at Torrey Pines.

In the days leading up to the tournament, several changes occurred in the Farmers Insurance Open field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to move in. Furthermore, with Brooks Koepka’s participation, the field expanded to 147 players, enabling Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin to enter the tournament as well.
