Nelly Korda Questions the Women’s Tomorrow Golf League Concept and Participation

Major winner Nelly Korda is ambivalent about the new Women’s Tomorrow Golf League, criticizing the concept and leaving her participation open.

The Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) announced earlier this year plans to expand its indoor league by integrating the LPGA Tour from late 2026, forming the Women’s Tomorrow Golf League (WTGL) featuring top LPGA players. While the WTGL revealed initial participants such as world number one Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, three-time Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, and seven-time US Solheim Cup competitor Lexi Thompson from the USA, two-time major and Olympic champion Nelly Korda’s name was notably absent.

Nelly Korda Speaks Out Critically About the WTGL

On Tuesday, Korda spoke candidly to the American golf magazine Golfweek during training at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida. She expressed mixed feelings about the WTGL and criticized the TGL concept: “I’m surprised no other players have spoken up. It’s really unfortunate that we’re not playing alongside the men. There is no better way to advance golf, and it would have been revolutionary. I believe it would have been the first time men and women played on the same course for equal prize money. But I also think it’s great that we have this opportunity. Those are my mixed feelings.”

Korda also suggested that instead of creating a separate women’s version of the TGL, it might have been possible to integrate a female player into existing men’s teams. She added that many of her LPGA Tour colleagues share similar views.

New WTGL Commitments: Zhang and Woad Join

Recently, the WTGL announced two more additions: Rose Zhang and Lottie Woad have chosen to compete in the indoor league starting late 2026 at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The 27-year-old Korda stated in a press interview that she is still considering participation: “I’m still weighing the time commitment. I haven’t thought much about it yet because I’ve focused fully on season preparation. Logistically, I think they still need to work out many details. Therefore, I will be evaluating my options soon.”

The Tomorrow Golf League was founded by career Grand Slam winners Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland and Tiger Woods of the United States, together with former NBC Sports manager Mike McCarley. The innovative men’s indoor league’s second season began on December 28, 2025, with live broadcasts on Sky.
