Nelly Korda Questions Women’s Tomorrow Golf League Concept, Participation Uncertain

Major winner Nelly Korda expresses mixed feelings about the new Women’s Tomorrow Golf League, criticizing the concept and leaving her participation open.

The Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) announced earlier this year an expansion of their indoor league, revealing plans to integrate the LPGA Tour by the end of 2026. This expansion will create the Women’s Tomorrow Golf League (WTGL), featuring top LPGA players. While the WTGL has announced participants like world number one Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, three-time Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, and seven-time Solheim Cup participant Lexi Thompson from the USA, two-time major and Olympic champion Nelly Korda’s name has not yet been confirmed.

Nelly Korda Expresses Critical Views on WTGL

On Tuesday, during a training session at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida, Korda spoke for the first time about the newly founded league in an interview with the American golf magazine Golfweek. She shared her mixed feelings and criticism towards the WTGL and TGL: “I am surprised no other players have made statements. It’s really a pity we are not playing alongside the men. There’s no better way to advance the sport, and it would have been revolutionary. I think it would be the first time men and women stand on the same course playing for the same prize money. But I also think it’s great that we have this opportunity. Those are my mixed feelings.”

Korda also suggested that instead of creating a new women’s version of the TGL, it might have been possible to integrate one female player into the existing men’s teams. She added that many of her colleagues on the LPGA Tour share similar views.

New WTGL Additions: Zhang and Woad Join League

Recently, WTGL announced two more new additions to the upcoming indoor league: Rose Zhang and Lottie Woad have also decided to compete in the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with other teams. The 27-year-old Korda mentioned she is still considering her participation, stating, “I am still weighing the time commitment. I haven’t thought about it too much yet because I have been fully focused on season preparation. Logistically, I believe there are still many details to work out. Therefore, I will evaluate my options soon.”

The Tomorrow Golf League was founded by career Grand Slam winners Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland and Tiger Woods from the United States together with former NBC Sports executive Mike McCarley. The second season of this innovative men’s indoor league will start on December 28, 2025, with live coverage on Sky.
