Besides Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, two more German pros qualified on Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.
The Farmers Insurance Open 2026 is all about one main topic: Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. But beyond the stars, a lot is at stake for the golfers, even before the official tournament begins.
PGA Tour Monday Qualifier
At the Monday Qualifier, 60 players competed for four spots at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course. The qualifying event took place at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful participants were two German players. Thomas Rosenmüller shared the top spot with Swede Henrik Norlander at seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine. Rosenmüller spread his nine stroke gains throughout the round. Starting on hole 10, he stumbled with two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but remained at the top. Crucially, Rosenmüller was able to reliably convert the par-5s into birdies to climb to the lead.
Sharing third place at five under par were Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul, who also qualified for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul also started on hole 10 and played a remarkable second nine with an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys. Thus, Rosenmüller and Paul complete the German contingent at Torrey Pines.

In the days leading up to the tournament, there were further changes to the Farmers Insurance Open field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to move in. Additionally, the field size is expanded to 147 players due to Brooks Koepka’s participation, which also allowed Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin to advance.
