PGA Tour: Two Germans Advance Through Monday Qualifier for Farmers Insurance Open

Alongside Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, two more German pros qualified on Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.

At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour is the main topic of conversation. However, beyond the stars, there is much at stake for the players, even before the official tournament begins.

PGA Tour Monday Qualifier

Sixty players competed for four spots in the tournament held at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course during the Monday Qualifier at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful players were two Germans. Thomas Rosenmueller tied with Swedish Henrik Norlander for first place with seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmueller spread his nine strokes gained throughout the round. Starting on hole 10, Rosenmueller faced some challenges with two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but maintained his lead by reliably converting the par-5s into birdies.

With five under par, Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul tied for third place, also securing spots at the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul, starting on hole 10, played an excellent back nine including an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys, rounding out the German contingent in Torrey Pines along with Rosenmueller.

In the days leading up to the tournament, there were further changes to the field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to join. Additionally, with Brooks Koepka’s participation expanding the field to 147 players, Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin also advanced.
