Nelly Korda questions Women’s Tomorrow Golf League concept, participation uncertain

Major winner Nelly Korda expresses mixed feelings about the new Women’s Tomorrow Golf League, criticizes its concept, and keeps her participation open.

The Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) announced earlier this year the expansion of its indoor league, revealing that the LPGA Tour will be incorporated starting at the end of 2026. This will form the Women’s Tomorrow Golf League (WTGL), featuring top players from the LPGA Tour. Among the first announced participants were world number one Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, three-time Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, and seven-time U.S. Solheim Cup player Lexi Thompson from the United States. Notably, two-time major and Olympic champion Nelly Korda’s name has not been mentioned yet.

Nelly Korda shares critical views on the WTGL

On Tuesday, Korda spoke for the first time about the newly founded league in an interview with American golf magazine Golfweek. While training at the driving range of Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida, she expressed mixed feelings toward the WTGL and criticized the TGL: “I’m surprised no other players have spoken about it. It’s really a shame we aren’t playing alongside the men. There is no better way to advance the sport, and it would have been revolutionary. I think it would have been the first time men and women stood on the same course competing for the same prize money. But I also think it’s great that we have this opportunity. Those are my mixed feelings.”

Korda also suggested that rather than launching a separate women’s version of the TGL, it might have been possible to integrate one woman into existing men’s teams. She mentioned that many of her colleagues on the LPGA Tour share similar thoughts.

More commitments for WTGL: Zhang and Woad join

Recently, the WTGL announced two more newcomers for the upcoming indoor league starting end of 2026. Rose Zhang and Lottie Woad have also decided to compete with other teams at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The 27-year-old Korda stated during a press talk that she is still considering participation. “I’m still weighing the time commitment,” she said. “I haven’t thought much about it yet as I have been fully focused on preparing for the season. Logistically, I believe there are still many details to clarify. Therefore, I will evaluate my options soon.”

The Tomorrow Golf League was founded by two career Grand Slam winners, Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland and Tiger Woods from the United States, together with former NBC Sports manager Mike McCarley. The second season of this innovative men’s indoor league started on December 28, 2025, and is broadcast live on Sky.
