Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended for three months by the DP World Tour due to a doping violation late last year.
The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected at the end of the 2025 season.
Prohibited Plant-Based Supplement Found
According to the European Tour Group, a prohibited substance was detected in Gavin Green’s system, which he had taken as part of a medical treatment via a plant-based supplement. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and had no intention to intentionally ingest the substance. However, the DP World Tour’s anti-doping rules apply, resulting in a suspension.
Gavin Green Receives Retrospective Suspension
Gavin Green’s retrospective three-month suspension started on December 5, 2025. He will be eligible to compete again at the Joburg Open on the DP World Tour from March 5, 2026. Furthermore, he was disqualified retroactively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, the event where the doping test took place.
The European Tour Group announced that they will not comment further on the suspension, and that Green has accepted his sanction.
First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit
After several successful years in the Asian amateur circuit, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved solid results. His career highlights include winning the Asian Tour Order of Merit in 2017, becoming the first Malaysian to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has finished second three times and third twice in his career so far.
