Gavin Green Suspended for 3 Months by DP World Tour for Doping Violation

Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended for three months by the DP World Tour due to a doping violation at the end of last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months after violating anti-doping regulations, detected during a doping test at the end of the 2025 season.

Prohibited Herbal Supplement Found

According to the European Tour Group, Green tested positive for a banned substance, which he had ingested as part of a medical treatment in a herbal supplement. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not take the substance deliberately. Nevertheless, DP World Tour rules apply regarding anti-doping violations, resulting in the suspension.

Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension

Green’s three-month suspension is retroactive, effective from December 5, 2025, allowing him to return to play at the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was retroactively disqualified from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, the tournament where the doping test was conducted.

The European Tour Group announced they will not comment further on the suspension and that Green has accepted his ban.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After several successful years as an amateur in Asia, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved notable results. His career highlights came in 2017 on the Asian Tour, where he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian to earn this accolade. On the DP World Tour, he has recorded three runner-up finishes and two third places so far in his career.
