DP World Tour Player Gavin Green Suspended for Three Months Due to Doping

Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping violation at the end of last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green was suspended for three months after violating anti-doping rules detected during a doping test at the end of the 2025 season.

Prohibited Herbal Supplements Detected

According to the European Tour Group, Gavin Green tested positive for a banned substance found in a herbal supplement he had taken as part of medical treatment. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally take the substance. Nonetheless, the DP World Tour’s anti-doping rules apply, resulting in his suspension.

Retrospective Suspension Imposed on Gavin Green

Gavin Green received a retrospective three-month suspension effective from December 5, 2025. He will be eligible to compete again at the DP World Tour’s Joburg Open starting March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified retroactively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test was conducted.

The European Tour Group announced they will not comment further on the suspension and confirmed that Green has accepted the sanction.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After several successful years in Asian amateur golf, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved notable results. His greatest successes came on the Asian Tour in 2017 when he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian ever to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has secured three runner-up and two third-place finishes in his career so far.
