Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping violation late last year.
The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected during an end-of-season doping test in 2025.
Prohibited Herbal Supplement Found
According to the European Tour Group, a banned substance was found in a herbal supplement that Green had taken as part of a medical treatment. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally ingest the substance. Nonetheless, the DP World Tour’s anti-doping rules apply, resulting in his suspension.
Gavin Green Receives Retrospective Suspension
Green’s retrospective three-month ban commenced on December 5, 2025. He is eligible to return to play at the Joburg Open of the DP World Tour on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was retrospectively disqualified from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test was conducted.
The European Tour Group stated they would not comment further on the suspension and that Green has accepted the penalty.
First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit
After several successful years as an amateur in Asia, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved notable results. His greatest achievements came in 2017 on the Asian Tour, where he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian golfer to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has secured three runner-up finishes and two third-place finishes in his career.
