Gavin Green Suspended for Three Months by DP World Tour for Doping Violation

Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended for three months by the DP World Tour due to a doping violation at the end of last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected during a test at the end of the 2025 season.

Prohibited Herbal Supplement Found

According to the European Tour Group, Green tested positive for a banned substance found in a herbal supplement he took as part of a medical treatment. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally take the substance. Nevertheless, the DP World Tour’s anti-doping regulations apply, resulting in the suspension.

Retrospective Suspension and Disqualification

Gavin Green received a retrospective three-month suspension starting from December 5, 2025, making him eligible to play again from the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was retroactively disqualified from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, the event during which the doping test was conducted.

The European Tour Group announced they will not comment further on the suspension and that Green has accepted the penalty.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After several successful years in the Asian amateur circuit, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved notable results. His greatest successes came in 2017 on the Asian Tour, when he became the first Malaysian ever to win the Order of Merit. On the DP World Tour, he has recorded three second-place and two third-place finishes to date.
