Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Now

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants another shot, Charley Hull soon also on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season, starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the competing circuit but requires more family time, according to a friendly agreement, as stated by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka, known as a competitive drive who thrives in high-level tournaments, showed limited motivation on LIV. He joined the Saudi-backed league in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund, making his decision to skip the final contractual season unsurprising though questions linger about financial details and his ownership status of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

The big speculation revolves around where Koepka will next compete: the DP World Tour where immediate eligibility would likely involve a penalty, or the PGA Tour where a one-year suspension stemming from his last LIV appearance remains, since lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were eased. The PGA Tour seems open to welcoming back prominent LIV players, as confirmed by ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, who reported Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership last Friday, aiming for player status reintegration.
