Patrick Reed Claims Hero Dubai Desert Classic Title on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, with Andy Sullivan finishing second. DACH players Schneider, von Dellingshausen, Girrbach, and Schott finish mid-field.

American Patrick Reed secured the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour held at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, the pearl of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Although Reed couldn’t match his earlier rounds on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the pro from San Antonio, Texas, to claim victory.

Steady Final Round Secures Victory

On the front nine, Reed was not flawless and recorded at least one bogey. On the back nine, he was able to balance out his earlier mistake on hole 10 but missed two attempts to hole the ball on the 11th hole, resulting in another bogey. He recovered at the 13th hole. With a total of 14 strokes under par, Reed claimed the title comfortably ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier, Spaniard David Puig, and England’s Andy Sullivan. The win propelled Reed from 107th to 2nd place in the Race to Dubai rankings.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Fights to Second Place

Andy Sullivan showed resilience late in the final round to claim sole second place. The Englishman started with four bogeys and one birdie on the front nine but recovered with four birdies on the back nine, finishing with a 71. A closing birdie on the 18th secured his second place finish. Despite finishing ten strokes under par, Sullivan remained under pressure from third-place finishers David Puig and Julien Guerrier, who both ended nine under par. Guerrier climbed seven spots on the leaderboard with a strong 69.

DACH Players Finish in Mid-Field

The four DACH players who made the cut on Friday finished in mid to lower mid-field. Marcel Schneider ended the final round with a 74, dropping 14 spots to a tie for 33rd place, sharing this position with DP World Tour favorite
