Patrick Reed Wins Hero Dubai Desert Classic on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, Andy Sullivan finishes second. DACH players Schneider, von Dellingshausen, Girrbach, and Schott finish mid-field.

American Patrick Reed secured the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, a jewel of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Although Reed could not fully replicate his earlier successes on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the pro from San Antonio, Texas, to claim victory.

Mixed Final Round Suffices for Victory

On the front nine, Reed was not error-free and recorded a bogey. On the back nine, he balanced his earlier mistake on the 10th hole but missed two attempts to hole the ball on the 11th hole, resulting in another bogey. He managed to equalize again on the 13th hole. Finishing with a total of 14 strokes under par, Reed clearly won ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier, Spaniard David Puig, and Englishman Andy Sullivan. The win propelled Reed in the Race to Dubai rankings from 107th to 2nd place.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Battles to Second Place

Andy Sullivan rallied in the final stretch of the last round to secure sole second place. The Englishman started the front nine with a disastrous four bogeys and just one birdie. On the back nine, Sullivan made up several strokes with four birdies, finishing with a 71. He also birdied the 18th hole to clinch second place at the last moments. Despite finishing ten strokes under par, he trailed well behind winner Reed but was pressured until the end by third-place finishers David Puig and Julien Guerrier.

David Puig closed the final round with a 73 and, like his tied competitor Julien Guerrier, ended at nine strokes under par. Guerrier improved seven places on the leaderboard with a strong 69.
