Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to give it another go, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected: Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who gets highly motivated and fired up during top-level competition, something he lacked at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly because he feared an early career end due to injuries and wanted a solid retirement fund. His skipping the final contract year isn’t surprising, though questions remain: Did he buy out his contract or return part of the guaranteed money? Does the 35-year-old remain owner of LIV team Smash GC, which has named Talor Gooch its new captain?

Speculation abounds on which tours Koepka will join next. The DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible—potentially with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after the former commissioner reduced lifetime bans? Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee, especially a high-profile one, benefits the already dominant Tour? This crucial question seems partially answered: According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and be readmitted to the player pool after not renewing it post-2022.
