Patrick Reed Wins Hero Dubai Desert Classic on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, Andy Sullivan takes second place. DACH players like Schneider, von Dellingshausen, Girrbach and Schott finish mid-field.

American Patrick Reed secured the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, the gem of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Although Reed could not quite match his earlier rounds on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the San Antonio, Texas pro to clinch the victory.

Mixed Final Round Enough for Victory

Reed was not flawless on the front nine, recording at least one bogey. On the back nine, he balanced a mistake on the 10th hole but missed par on the 11th, struggling with two attempts on the green and making another bogey. However, he recovered on the 13th hole. Finishing at 14 under par overall, Reed claimed the title comfortably ahead of France’s Julien Guerrier, Spain’s David Puig, and England’s Andy Sullivan. This win propelled Reed from 107th to 2nd place in the Race to Dubai standings.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Fights to Second Place

Andy Sullivan proved his resilience in the final stretch to secure sole second place. The Englishman started with a disastrous front nine, posting four bogeys and one birdie. However, his back nine saw a comeback with four birdies recorded, finishing with a 71. He also birdied the 18th hole, fighting hard to claim second place. Despite finishing 10 under par, he had a clear gap to champion Reed but was closely challenged by third-place players David Puig and Julien Guerrier.

David Puig closed with a 73, tying with Julien Guerrier at nine under par overall. Guerrier’s strong 69 moved him up seven spots on the leaderboard.

DACH Players Finish Midfield

The four DACH players who made the cut on Friday finished in the midfield or lower midfield of the leaderboard.
