Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull to launch on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season beginning February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives under high-level challenges, something he felt limited during his time at LIV. In 2022, he joined the Saudi-backed league mainly due to injury concerns and the desire to secure a solid retirement fund. Hence, his skipping the last contractual season comes as no surprise, although questions remain about potential buyouts or repayments. Koepka also remains the owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations are rife about where Koepka will next tee off. The DP World Tour could immediately grant him eligibility, perhaps with a penalty. Alternatively, the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV event after lifetime bans were significantly eased. It now seems partially resolved: ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and reinstate his playing privileges since leaving in 2022.
