Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Speculation surrounds Koepka, a fierce competitor who thrives on high-level contests, who had mixed motivation at LIV. When he joined LIV in 2022, it was largely due to injury doubts about his career and securing retirement funds. Questions remain if he bought out his contract or repaid part of his guaranteed money, and if he still owns his LIV team Smash GC, which has appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

More importantly, speculation rises about where Koepka will compete next: the DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible, perhaps with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance—a suspension softened from lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan. The question seems partly answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, previously not extended after 2022, seeking reinstatement into the player ranks.
