Patrick Reed Wins Hero Dubai Desert Classic on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, Andy Sullivan finishes second. DACH players Schneider, von Dellingshausen, Girrbach, and Schott place mid-field.

American Patrick Reed secured the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, the pearl of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Although Reed could not quite match his previous days’ performances on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the professional from San Antonio, Texas to win.

Mixed Final Day Good Enough for Victory

Reed was not flawless on the front nine and recorded at least one bogey. On the back nine, he balanced out a mistake at the 10th hole but then missed two chances on the 11th green, resulting in another bogey after missing par by four strokes. He recovered at the 13th hole and finished with a total of 14 under par, securing the title well ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier, Spaniard David Puig, and Englishman Andy Sullivan. With the victory, Reed jumped from 107th to 2nd place in the Race to Dubai standings.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Fights to Second Place

Andy Sullivan proved himself again in the final stretch of the last round, securing sole possession of second place. The Englishman started the front nine with a disastrous four bogeys and only one birdie. However, on the back nine, Sullivan made up several strokes, finishing with four birdies for a 71 round. He birdied the 18th hole as well, clinching second place in the last moments. Despite finishing 10 under par, he was still well behind winner Reed but kept pressure from the two third-place finishers, David Puig and Julien Guerrier, until the end.

David Puig closed the final round with a 73, matching Julien Guerrier’s nine under par total. Guerrier improved by seven places on the leaderboard with a strong 69 round.
