Patrick Reed Claims Hero Dubai Desert Classic Title on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, with Andy Sullivan finishing second. DACH players like Schneider and Girrbach land in mid-field.

American Patrick Reed secured the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, the jewel of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Although Reed couldn’t quite match his previous days’ successes on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the pro from San Antonio, Texas, to clinch the victory.

Mixed final round enough for victory

On the front nine, Reed was not flawless and recorded at least one bogey. On the back nine, he managed to recover from his earlier mistake at the 10th hole but missed two attempts to hole out at the 11th, resulting in another bogey. However, he balanced this out at the 13th hole. With a total of 14 under par, Reed secured the title clearly ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier, Spaniard David Puig, and Englishman Andy Sullivan. The victory propelled Reed from 107th to 2nd place in the Race to Dubai rankings.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Fights to Second Place

Andy Sullivan proved himself in the final stretch of the last round to secure sole possession of second place. The Englishman started his front nine with four bogeys and only one birdie but recovered on the back nine with four birdies, finishing with a 71. He also birdied the 18th hole, cementing his runner-up position. Although finishing ten strokes under par, Sullivan still trailed well behind champion Reed and was pressured until the end by third-place finishers David Puig and Julien Guerrier.

David Puig closed his final round with a 73 to finish nine under par, tied with Julien Guerrier, who improved seven places on the leaderboard thanks to a strong 69 round.
