Scottie Scheffler Claims 20th PGA Tour Win at The American Express 2026

Scottie Scheffler wins his 20th PGA Tour event before turning 30.

Scottie Scheffler started 2026 as usual: with a victory. He claimed The American Express on the PGA Tour by four strokes over Jason Day, Ryan Gerard, Matt McCarty, and Andrew Putnam tied for second, becoming the second fastest player to reach 20 PGA Tour wins. Scheffler surged to the top with a 66 in the final round, outperforming the competition.

PGA Tour: Scottie Scheffler Dominates The American Express

In the final round, Scheffler made a birdie on half the holes and could have won by an even larger margin if he hadn’t hit the ball into the water on the island green at 17, resulting in a double bogey. Despite this, his 66 was unmatched. Si Woo Kim, the three-round leader, fell back with a 72 on Sunday and 18-year-old Blades Brown, who had played the Korn Ferry Tour final on the Bahamas just days before and was tied with Scheffler after three rounds, dropped to T18 with a 74.

Scheffler thus starts the new year as dominantly as ever. This marks his 16th consecutive top-ten finish, though he remains humble about his victories. “There’s a reason we have to finish the tournament. You don’t get the trophy on the 16th hole. You have to play to the end. I played in the last group today against two very talented players. Si Woo has so much talent; he’s so good at golf. I saw Blades for the first time, but anyone 18 years old making the final flight at a PGA Tour event must be doing something right. It’s a course where you have to go out and make birdies. So there were many challenges today, but I’m proud of how we played and laid down a great round.”
