Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season beginning February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This friendly agreement was officially stated by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a fierce competitor who thrives on high-level competition, had limited motivation at LIV. His 2022 move to Saudi Arabia was mainly because of injuries threatening his career’s end and to secure a retirement fund. So his skipping the final contractual season isn’t surprising, although questions remain about buyouts or paybacks. Is he still an owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain?

Speculation buzzes about where Koepka will appear next: the DP World Tour, where he is immediately eligible, possibly with penalties? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after previously life bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly softened? It seems the crucial question is partly answered. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his 2022-lapsed PGA Tour membership and rejoin the players’ ranks.
