Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh playing again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected: Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited in LIV. He had joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Hence, his decision to forgo the last contractual season is understandable, although questions remain about financial matters and his ownership of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculations arise about where Koepka will next compete: the DP World Tour where he likely has immediate eligibility, potentially with a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after previous lifetime bans were significantly softened. This key question seems partly answered. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, seeking reinstatement into the player pool.
