Scottie Scheffler Wins His 20th PGA Tour Title at The American Express

Scottie Scheffler wins his 20th PGA Tour title before turning 30.

Scottie Scheffler starts 2026 as usual: with a victory. He won The American Express on the PGA Tour by four strokes over Jason Day, Ryan Gerard, Matt McCarty, and Andrew Putnam, achieving the milestone of 20 PGA Tour wins as the second fastest player to do so. Scheffler took the lead with a 66 round while his competitors fell short.

PGA Tour: Scottie Scheffler Dominates The American Express

During the final round, Scheffler made birdies on half the holes and could have won by an even larger margin if he hadn’t hit the ball into the water on the 17th island green, resulting in a double bogey. His 66 was unmatched. Si Woo Kim, the leader after three rounds, could not keep pace on Sunday and fell back with a 72. Eighteen-year-old Blades Brown, who played in the Korn-Ferry Tour final in the Bahamas just days prior and was tied with Scheffler after three rounds, slipped to a T18 with a final round 74.

Scheffler Starts the Year Strong

Scheffler begins the new year as dominant as ever. It marks his 16th consecutive top-ten finish, yet he doesn’t take victories for granted. “There’s a reason we have to finish the tournament. You don’t get the trophy on the 16th hole. You have to finish the tournament,” he said. “I played in the last group today against two very, very talented players. Si Woo has so much talent. He’s so good at golf. I saw Blades for the first time, but any 18-year-old who makes the final flight of a PGA Tour event is doing something right. It’s a course where you have to go out and make birdies. There were many challenges today, but I’m proud of how we played and posted a nice round.”
