At the Mitsubishi Electric Championship on the Champions Tour at the Hualalai Golf Course in Kaʻūpūlehu on the Hawaiian volcanic island of Hawaii, American Stewart Cink emerged victorious and took home the trophy. The two German starters Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka played their way near the Top 10 of the leaderboard after three rounds.

Champions Tour: Stewart Cink Dominates in Hawaii

Stewart Cink started with a 66 on Thursday, placing himself early among the leaders. Despite a bogey at hole 16 in his second round, he secured an impressive 63 on Friday with ten birdies. On the final day, a 64 round brought him to a total of 23 under par, shining at the top of the leaderboard.

Following Cink was Argentine Ángel Cabrera, who impressed with an eagle in the final round and finished with a 66 round including five birdies and one bogey. Cabrera posed a threat on day two, moving confidently to third place overall. He shot an outstanding 62 on Friday, playing the front nine flawlessly with five birdies and an eagle. On the back nine, Cabrera added five birdies but had two bogeys on holes 11 and 17. He finished three strokes behind leader Cink and held second place two strokes ahead of South African Retief Goosen.

Bernhard Langer Steadily Advances into Top 10

Bernhard Langer steadily progressed during the Hawaii tournament into the Top 10. Starting Thursday with a 70, he was mid-field. On day two, Langer recorded seven birdies and an eagle against just one bogey at hole 15. His solid 64 round, eight under par, gave him confidence heading into the final round. On the last day, a 68 enabled him to climb two more places, finishing ninth overall at 14 under par.

Also, German pro golfer of Czech origin Alex Cejka moved close to the Top 10. With rounds of 68 on Thursday and 70 on Friday, he was in 24th place before the final day. The 55-year-old from Mariánské Lázně (now Czech Republic) surged with a 66 on Saturday, climbing twelve positions to finish 12th at 12 under par.
