Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This friendly agreement was announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a competitive athlete who thrives in high-level competition, was less motivated in LIV. He had joined the Saudi-backed circuit in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a robust retirement fund. His skipping the final contracted season raises questions — did he buy out his contract or repay part of his guaranteed salary? Will the 35-year-old remain an owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculation is rife about Koepka’s next fairways: DP World Tour where he could be immediately eligible (likely with a penalty), or the PGA Tour where he must serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV start, albeit the lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been eased. The key question seems partly answered. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership that was not renewed after 2022 and to regain his playing rights.
