Patrick Reed Wins Hero Dubai Desert Classic on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, Andy Sullivan finishes second. DACH players Schneider, von Dellingshausen, Girrbach, and Schott place mid-field.

American Patrick Reed secured the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour held at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, the jewel of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Though Reed couldn’t fully replicate his earlier days’ performance on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the San Antonio, Texas pro to claim victory.

Mixed Final Day Secures Victory

Reed wasn’t flawless on the front nine, recording a bogey. On the back nine, he made up for his earlier mistake at the 10th hole but missed par by four strokes at the 11th after two putts attempts, yielding another bogey. He recovered this at the 13th hole. Finishing at 14 under par, Reed won comfortably ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier, Spaniard David Puig, and England’s Andy Sullivan. The win catapulted Reed from 107th to 2nd place in the Race to Dubai rankings.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Fights to Second Place

Andy Sullivan made a strong comeback in the closing stages of the final round to secure sole second place. The Englishman started the front nine poorly with four bogeys and one birdie but recovered with four birdies on the back nine, finishing with a 71. His birdie on the 18th hole secured him second place. Despite finishing ten shots under par, Sullivan faced significant pressure from third-place finishers David Puig and Julien Guerrier, who both finished nine under par.

David Puig completed the final round with a 73, tying with Julien Guerrier who improved by seven leaderboard spots with a strong 69.

DACH Players in the Midfield

The four DACH players who made the cut on Friday finished in the middle or lower-middle of the leaderboard. Marcel Schneider dropped 14 places to T33 after a 74 on the final day, sharing the spot with DP World Tour favorite Rory McIlroy, who also lost six places with a 73. Nicolai von Dellingshausen finished the Hero Dubai Desert Classic two under par, tied 33rd.

Freddy Schott and Swiss Joel Girrbach finished T49, each one over par. Schott’s final round included five bogeys and three birdies; Girrbach matched this with
